May 2016…

This month I tweaked the tuning of my SOTA linked dipole to give me greater coverage on 40m. I now have an SWR of <1.7:1 across 20, 30 & 40m…now I’m ready for some Summer SOTA action :o)

I’ve managed to achieved both my Worked all @lids (WALIDS) Bronze award and collected my first FISTS Millionaire award (QRP) thanks to plenty of CW sessions on the key.

On the radio front I’ve been testing the new radios from LNR Precision; the LD-11 and MTR5B kindly loaded to me by Dennis at Kanga UK. Two interesting radios pitched at the portable user but with very different purposes.

See my LD-11 Field Test video and Feature Overview video. European Hams should check out Kanga UK‘s website to see availability.
