SOTA is most enjoyable in the Summer…ask any activator! With that in mind I took the opportunity to add a few points to my activators cache by heading over to South Wales and two good hills within walking distance of each other, Pen y Fan (GW/SW-001) & Fan Fawr (GW/SW-005). The pair made for a great days climbing and activating but my take away from these summits was; Pen y Fan gets incredibly busy so you may want to arrive early to avoid the crowds and parking can be a challenge…again, arrive early! August brings with it the annual family holiday and I can’t help but check out nearby summits when ever we travel somewhere. From our cottage near Beaminster I was only a short distance from Hardown Hill (G/SC-011) and Lewesdon Hill (G/SC-009) on the Dorset/Devon border. Two very different hills with one thing in common…parking is tough. Check out my activation notes for these two Dorset summits:
