James (M0JCQ) convinced me that a rerun of our 2015 Five Peaks SOTA challenge would be an excellent idea…after all, Winter in Wales, what could possibly go wrong.

This year we chose the half-term holiday weekend so finding overnight digs on the Friday was a challenge. We activated the following summits on the English/Welsh border in what could only be described as windy and inclement weather;

Cordon Hill (GW/MW-013), Stiperstones (G/WB-003), Long Mynd – Pole Bank (G/WB-005), Brown Clee Hill (G/WB-002) and Titterstone Clee Hill (G/WB-004).

Like last year we started early and watched the sun come up on our first icy summit…that was the last time we saw the sun.
